Key People
Stephen Macpherson
Country Manager
Stephen Macpherson is the country manager for Brunei and since November 2012 has been based in Bandar Seri Begawan. Stephen is a civil engineer by profession with extensive hands-on experience in developing and delivering construction projects in Australia and south-east Asia.
Stephen first came to Malaysia in 1994 and has worked throughout the region in various capacities from site operations to commercial and contractual management of complex telecommunications and HVTL (High Voltage Transmission Line) projects. Over the last 15 years he has fronted the business development of AlanDick Malaysia and Brunei.
Stephen holds a degree of Civil Engineering from the University of Sydney, Australia.
Andrew Thomas
Managing Director
Andrew Thomas is the Managing Director of Alandick Malaysia and Brunei as well as the Group Executive Director at Lava Protocols, a pioneering Malaysian company focused on cloud computing consulting and solutions. An engineer by profession, Andrew has broad technical and business experience spanning over 20 years across Asia Pacific, working with American and European MNCs in the areas of telecommunications, software and infrastructure.
Andrew’s expertise is in business and technical strategy, particularly in growing businesses by seizing untapped opportunities and driving operational efficiencies. Having started as an engineer in AT&T covering network systems and RF engineering, Andrew has had a progressive engineering management experience from deployment team leader and regional manager, to the lead Asia Pacific UMTS project director at Lucent Technologies and currently the Managing Director for Alan Dick & Company Malaysia & Brunei.
Azlan Omar
Construction Manager
Azlan Omar controls and directs all construction and site activities conducted by Alan Dick and Company (B) Sdn. Bhd., whether they be in country or in other parts of south-east Asia. With his qualifications as a civil engineer and 20 years of experience in the industry he works tirelessly to ensure that our projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to budget.
Azlan leads our group of rigging foremen and rigging technicians and multitasks logistics, technical control, budget control, sub-contractor management, quality assurance and occupational health and safety on often con-concurrently operating projects.
Azlan also plays a lead role in the development and training of new technical and site based staff, and in this capacity, he lays the foundation for the development of them into competent skilled technical employees of ADCB.
